Mark Trakh is a basketball coach who is currently serving as the head coach for the USC Women's Basketball team. He was born on December 21, 1955, in Lebanon, Oregon, and was raised in Douglas County, Oregon. He attended Glide High School, where he played basketball and was named first-team all-state in his senior year. He later attended Brigham Young University, where he played basketball and earned a degree in physical education.
Trakh began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Riverside City College and then moved to the University of California, Riverside. He later served as the head coach for Pepperdine University and later California State University, Long Beach (now known as California State University, Long Beach). He spent ten seasons at New Mexico State University, leading the team to eight consecutive postseason appearances.
In 2017, Trakh returned to USC Women's Basketball as the head coach. He had previously coached the team from 2004 to 2009 and led them to two NCAA tournament appearances. During his tenure as a coach, Trakh has won numerous awards, including Coach of the Year for the Big West Conference.
